Ginger ale

German: Ginger Ale

Carbonated soft drink with ginger flavour, often used as a mixer.

Ginger ale is a soft drink flavoured with ginger extract or aroma. It is usually pale, mildly sweet and less sharp than ginger beer. It is drunk on its own and used as a mixer in long drinks.

Well-known mixes include whisky and ginger or the Moscow Mule, which traditionally uses the spicier ginger beer. Recipe and ginger content differ by producer.
