Near water (flavoured water)

German: Near Water Also known as: Aromatisiertes Wasser, Wellnesswasser

Lightly flavoured water, usually with little or no sugar, positioned between water and lemonade.

Near water refers to lightly flavoured water drinks that sit between plain water and lemonade in taste. They are often still or mildly carbonated and flavoured with fruit aromas, herbs or small amounts of fruit juice.

Sugar content is low or replaced by sweeteners. Customers interested in less sugar like to choose this segment. There is no legally fixed definition; in general the rules for flavoured waters or soft drinks apply. Often vitamins or minerals are additionally stated. The label gives the exact designation and the ingredients, so products can be told apart.
