Fizz
Also known as: Gin Fizz
A variation of the sour topped up with soda water, making it sparkling and refreshing.
A fizz is a sour that, after shaking, is topped up with carbonated water such as soda. This makes it lighter, livelier and longer. The best-known example is the Gin Fizz, classically made of gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup and soda.
Versions with egg white are called Silver Fizz, with egg yolk Golden Fizz and with a whole egg Royal Fizz. It is usually served in a highball or small long-drink glass, often without ice or with little ice.
