Centilitre and bar spoon measure

German: Zentiliter (cl) und Barlöffel-Maße Also known as: cl, Zentiliter, Centiliter

The usual bar measure: 1 cl equals 10 ml. A bar spoon holds roughly 5 ml, which is half a centilitre.

In German bars quantities are usually given in centilitres. One centilitre is ten millilitres, and a standard shot is often two or four centilitres. Internationally, ounces are also common, about 30 millilitres per ounce.

For very small amounts the bar spoon is used, holding roughly five millilitres. Measuring is done with a jigger or measuring cup so that drinks taste the same each time. Anyone adapting recipes from abroad should pay attention to the unit, since ounces differ slightly.
