Short drink
German: Shortdrink Also known as: Short Drink
A small, concentrated cocktail of roughly 60 to 100 millilitres, usually served without ice in a stemmed glass, such as the Martini or Manhattan.
A short drink is a small cocktail that usually has few ingredients and a fairly small volume of roughly 60 to 100 millilitres. In return it is concentrated and strongly flavoured. It is mostly stirred or shaken and served without ice in a stemmed glass so that it stays cold without becoming diluted.
Classics are the Martini, Manhattan and Cosmopolitan. Because short drinks should be drunk soon, while they are cold, they are made in smaller portions.
