Fruit juice drink
German: Fruchtsaftgetränk Also known as: Fruchtsaft-Erfrischungsgetränk, Fruchtsaftgetränk
A drink with a small fruit juice share (about 6 to 30 percent depending on fruit), water, sugar and often flavourings.
Fruit juice drinks contain only a smaller share of fruit juice, about 6 to 30 percent depending on the fruit. The rest consists of water, sugar or sweetener, acidulants and often flavourings. They are cheaper to produce than fruit juice or nectar.
The legally required designation reads something like “fruit juice drink”. This gives no claim to a high fruit content. Anyone wanting to know how much fruit is contained will find the share on the label. Juices diluted to one's own taste are a counterpart to industrially produced fruit juice drinks.
