Beverage supply contract (beer purchase agreement)

German: Getränkelieferungsvertrag (Bierbezugsvertrag) Also known as: Bierbezugsvertrag, Bierlieferungsvertrag, Getränkebezugsvertrag

A contract in which a business commits to buying drinks from a particular supplier over a longer period.

A beverage supply contract, called a beer purchase agreement for beer, ties a pub or retailer to a supplier for an agreed term. In return the supplier often grants benefits such as discounts, subsidies, rental equipment or loans.

Important are term, minimum quantities, prices, termination and what applies on handing over the business. A close review of the conditions before signing is advisable. Legal rules on contract terms and competition law apply. Agreements on empties handling, payment deadlines and substitute deliveries during shortages usually belong in the contract as well. The applicable regulations are authoritative.
