Beer mix drink
German: Biermischgetränk Also known as: Bier-Mix, Mischbier
A drink made of beer plus at least one other component such as lemonade or cola.
Beer mix drinks are drinks that combine beer with other ingredients, for example with lemon soda (Radler), cola (“Diesel”), fruit juice or flavourings. In trade they are labelled as mixed drinks with a beer base.
Because they do not meet the purity requirements for beer, they may not be sold simply as “beer” but carry names such as “beer mix drink”. Alcohol content is usually lower than that of pure beer, often 2 to 3 percent ABV. They are especially popular in summer. Depending on mixing ratio and ingredients, the taste varies from sweet and lemonade-like to tart and fruity.
