Still water

German: Still Also known as: Stilles Wasser, Ohne Kohlensäure

Mineral water with no or very little carbon dioxide, calm in the glass.

Still means water without carbonation or with only very small amounts. It does not fizz and is easy to drink, including in larger amounts or alongside delicate flavours, such as when preparing tea or coffee.

In natural mineral water carbon dioxide may be removed, so a water that was originally sparkling can also be offered still. Still water is especially popular with children, in sports and as an accompaniment to meals. It is often offered in reusable PET bottles or glass. For taste, the minerals contained play the main role: they determine whether the water seems neutral, soft or slightly salty.
