Medium (lightly sparkling)

German: Medium Also known as: Medium Mineralwasser, Wenig Kohlensäure

Mineral water with moderate carbonation, less tingling than classic.

Medium describes mineral water with moderate carbonation. It bubbles less strongly than classic and is gentler for many drinkers. Little foam forms when poured.

There is no exact legal definition of the carbonation level; values are clearly below those of classic. The term is a convention among manufacturers. Medium is in frequent demand in Germany, partly because it is seen as the middle path between sparkling and still. It is popular as a thirst quencher, with meals and as a base for spritzers.
