Craft spirits

Craft spirits is an umbrella term for spirits from small, mostly independent producers who work with hand-crafted methods and often in small batches. Typical are regional ingredients, own recipes and transparency about origin and production.

There is no legally binding definition in Germany or the EU. In the USA the American Craft Spirits Association has set up its own criteria. The term is therefore a self-description, not a protected quality mark.
