Small batch
German: Small Batch Also known as: Kleinchargen
A trade and marketing term for spirits made or bottled in small batches.
Small batch refers to spirits made from a limited number of casks or in small quantities. The idea is that small batches can be selected and blended more carefully than large series production.
There is no uniform legal definition; each producer decides how large a batch may be. The term alone therefore says little about quality. It is used frequently, particularly in the bourbon sector.
