Coffee blend

A mix of coffees of different origins or varieties intended to achieve a consistent flavour profile.
A blend combines beans of different origins, species or roasts. The aim is usually a balanced taste that stays consistent through the year even if individual harvests vary. Roasters set the composition according to their own recipe.
Blending is done either before or after roasting. Blends are especially common for espresso, where they are meant to balance body, sweetness and crema, for example Arabica with a share of Robusta.
