Goods receipt

German: Wareneingang Also known as: WE

Acceptance and checking of delivered goods against the delivery note and the order.

At goods receipt, delivered goods are accepted, compared with the order and delivery note and checked for quantity, item and damage. For drinks this includes checking best-before dates, undamaged crates and returned empties.

Deviations are noted immediately on the delivery note and reported. The goods are then put into storage and booked into stock. A clean goods receipt prevents stock errors and later disputes. Especially in home delivery and wholesale, deposit items, crate counts and visible damage should be checked right at unloading.
