Pack unit

German: Gebinde Also known as: Gebindeart, Gebindegröße

A sales or delivery unit of a drink such as a crate, keg, carton or six-pack.

A pack unit is the form in which a drink is traded. It can be a single bottle, a six-pack, a crate, a carton, a keg or a tank. The size of the individual bottle is part of the description, for example 0.33 or 0.5 litres.

The pack type determines price, deposit, storage space and logistics. Retailers therefore manage articles per pack unit, and prices are often converted per litre to make offers comparable.
