Happy hour

German: Happy Hour Pronunciation: hä-pi au-er

A period in which a bar or venue offers drinks at reduced prices, usually in the late afternoon or early evening.

Happy hour is a limited period in which drinks, and sometimes small dishes, are offered at reduced prices. It is usually in the late afternoon or early evening and is meant to attract guests in quieter times.

Typical are discounted cocktails, beer or wine, sometimes two drinks for the price of one. How long it lasts and what it includes is decided by each venue itself. In hospitality, price display rules and youth protection must be observed.
