Flat white
German: Flat White
An espresso drink with finely steamed, velvety milk and only a thin layer of foam.
A flat white consists of espresso and milk steamed so finely that it looks velvety with almost no visible foam. Compared with a cappuccino the foam layer is thin and the coffee taste is much more noticeable.
The drink originated in Australia and New Zealand, where its origin is claimed in different ways. It is often made with a double espresso. When well made, latte art can be poured into it.
