DPG (German deposit system company)

The Deutsche Pfandsystem GmbH, DPG for short, organises the nationwide system for one-way beverage packaging subject to deposit. Producers and retailers register their packaging there, and the company ensures that deposit amounts are settled among the parties.

The uniform deposit logo on the package shows that it belongs to the system. This allows the package to be returned across the country at participating retailers. It works on behalf of the producers and retailers participating in the system and is not to be confused with government bodies. The applicable regulations are authoritative.
